addedHappy 2026 everybody! We're closing in on the final release of The Last Exhibit, but Beta 4 is here for now and brings some very important new features. The biggest of which? WINDOWED MODE IS BACK! Plus, all windowed resolutions work (1920x1080, 1280x720, 960x540, etc.). This was not a small effort to get this working so please test it out (particularly with Mondrian Studio ) and let me know if it's doing its job. In the meantime I'll keep testing it out on my end and make sure everything is up to snuff.
changedSome other additions for this update are much improved compatibility with Steam Cloud saves, which includes your save game, museum, and Mondrian Maker settings. This also includes your game settings, but this will be changed soon what with your video settings likely to be different between your PC and Steam Deck.
addedNew Keyboard Shortcuts have been added to Mondrian Maker , including Control-N for a New Level, and Control-H to change color harmonies. Meanwhile, Right Click or the B button on a controller can now be used for closing the Context Menu, the "Event Submission" button has been removed from the Share Window (and event-associated achievements are being removed as well), and a few bugs with the Miniswatches have been cleared up.
addedThe Mondrian Maker and Mondrian Studio manual has also received an update, with controller maps being added and more sections finished up. Be sure to check it out by clicking "Open Manual" in the Mondrian Maker Quick Links.
addedFinally, Museum spotlight pieces have received an overhaul, with a batch of old favorites now included in a couple "Classics" collections, and said Classics have now all been rendered in 3D. Others have been removed to make way for new pieces I'll be whipping up in Blender this month.
changedIt would truly mean a lot if you could take a moment and test out the latest additions, especially Windowed mode, and send in your feedback. Make sure to switch the game over to the "beta" branch to try out the latest updates.
