Modern Warships changes
Commanders!
The preparation of Modern Warships for its launch on Steam is in full swing, and the game is gaining even more momentum as it develops. We continue to expand the arsenal and fleet, and November 2025 brings a fresh wave of additions. In this overview, we have gathered all the new content — from units already available to those currently in development. Fans of modern weaponry will definitely find something to appreciate here!
🛳️ Destroyer HMAS Hobart (DDGH 39)
Country: Australia
Tier: III
Role: Long‑range missile destroyer
Steam post image HMAS Hobart (DDGH 39) is the newest Hobart‑class destroyer of the Royal Australian Navy. It was initially designed as a platform with high modernization potential: key systems can be upgraded and replaced as new technologies appear. Its combined diesel‑gas turbine propulsion system provides high speed and good maneuverability. The ship’s firepower is centered around missile systems, but its arsenal is not limited to them, allowing it to operate confidently against any type of target.
This destroyer is intended for mid‑ and long‑range engagements. Thanks to its unique missile weapons, it can effectively use its remaining missiles. Its countermeasure systems deserve special mention, providing all‑aspect protection from both air threats and underwater attacks, including torpedoes.
After the battle begins, the main objective is to find cover with good visibility, allowing you to deliver missile strikes safely and effectively using allied reconnaissance data. The ship’s arsenal is clearly focused on missile batteries. It is advisable to launch the Harpoon Block 1G missiles first. While their individual damage is not high, their high flight speed and dense salvo effectively overload enemy air defenses, creating an opening for the remaining missiles to reach the target and deliver the main strike.
🛳️ Frigate HMS Type 32
Country: United Kingdom
Tier: III
Role: Multirole frigate
Steam post image HMS Type 32 is a next‑generation British frigate concept. The project focuses on reduced detectability and high survivability, combining excellent seakeeping with modularity that enables rapid replacement and upgrading of many systems. It was envisioned as the fleet’s multirole “workhorse,” capable of autonomous operations, handling a wide range of missions, and performing reliably in challenging environments and any weather, meeting Royal Navy requirements.
In‑game, the ship is designed to perform a broad spectrum of combat tasks. This includes active frontline operations alongside larger vessels, as well as flanking raids targeting enemy rear units such as aircraft carriers. Effective tactics include using the smoke screen against missile‑focused or aviation‑focused enemies, allowing you to fire almost safely from temporary cover.
The new British frigate is highly versatile: along with missile armaments, it encourages alternating between guns and grenade launchers, enabling flexible playstyles ranging from flanking maneuvers to reliable support of allies. Its key advantage lies in its automatic anti‑torpedo systems, which detect and destroy torpedoes on their own and also work effectively against submarines, greatly increasing survivability against underwater threats. Its air‑defense systems are similarly effective: while no standalone system can guarantee protection against a full swarm of missiles, they can intercept a significant portion of them. Ultimately, this is a true multirole platform whose threat level depends primarily on the commander’s skills and tactics.
🛳️ Cruiser BAP Almirante Grau (CLM‑81)
Country: Peru
Tier: III
Role: Modernized artillery cruiser
Steam post image BAP Almirante Grau (CLM‑81) served as the flagship of the Peruvian Navy from 1973. The ship underwent multiple modernizations, receiving updated equipment and electronic systems. For its class, it featured high speed, excellent maneuverability, and a deck helicopter. Its primary weapons were powerful artillery guns, reinforced with missile systems and launchers. Numerous reliable air‑defense systems provided its protective capabilities.
Its gameplay revolves around delivering timely salvoes from its four main guns — essentially a battleship‑style approach with a smaller caliber — followed by retreating behind cover. While it also carries grenade launchers and missile batteries, its key strengths remain maneuverability combined with accurate, powerful artillery. Is it worth engaging head‑on? Yes — if you synchronize strikes with allies on a single target. Prefer fighting from a distance? No problem: the large‑caliber Swedish guns deliver significant damage to any chosen target.
BAP Almirante Grau (CLM‑81) pays homage to the classic naval combat style of past decades — and that approach remains just as effective today.
🛳️ Destroyer KPN Choe Hyon
Country: North Korea
Tier: III
Role: Modern missile destroyer
KPN Choe Hyon is a modern Choe Hyon‑class destroyer of the North Korean Navy. As one of the country’s largest warships, it carries a unique set of weapons designed to engage all types of opponents. Its arsenal includes nuclear missiles, modified guns, and torpedo launchers, emphasizing versatility and the ship’s offensive role in any potential conflict.
The new North Korean destroyer is well‑prepared to fulfill the core tasks of its class in modern naval combat. Its primary objective in any battle is to effectively disable enemy surface targets while countering underwater and aerial threats, maintaining the initiative for aggressive attacks.
KPN Choe Hyon is the first ship from its country in Modern Warships, embodying not only practical and carefully considered engineering decisions for its class but also the characteristic traits of its creators — achieving maximum results within the given requirements and conditions. Its effectiveness depends primarily on the captain’s skill, but a well‑planned strategy (especially offensive!) is equally important. It is an excellent tool in the hands of both seasoned sailors and new captains looking to command a rare visitor from a new nation.
✈️ Strike Fighter TEDBF
Country: India
Tier: III
Role: Advanced multirole aircraft
Steam post imageA next‑generation twin‑engine Indian carrier‑based strike aircraft developed as an evolution and replacement for the HAL Tejas. The aircraft features redesigned aerodynamics and is built for intensive carrier operations.
Its wide selection of guided weapons allows it to engage both surface and air targets effectively.
✈️ Drone Qaher‑313
Country: Iran
Tier: III
Role: Jet‑powered strike drone
Steam post imageAn experimental Iranian UAV converted from a manned aircraft into a compact strike drone. This approach improved its stealth and expanded its reconnaissance potential.
The platform carries a wide array of precision systems designed to engage enemy surface targets at medium range.
