Hello, adventurers! Itโs been a long time since our last devblog, but thatโs because weโve been working hard behind the scenes to bring Mithrall to the next level. Today, weโre thrilled to share a massive update with new content, improved systems, fresh visuals, and, of course, details about the next playtest!

Now, letโs dive into everything weโve been working on!
๐ New Tutorials โ Learn to Survive! (Ulysse)
Weโve been working on new tutorial systems to make the game more accessible while still keeping the freedom that Mithrall is all about. New tutorial videos have been added to the game, covering:
โ Movements โ Collecting Resources โ Primitive Crafting โ Active Crafting (Workbenches) โ Tailor Workbench โ Corpse Harvesting โ Combat
These tutorials will help newcomers get started while keeping the learning process immersive and engaging.

The maps are growing, and with them, new soundscapes to create an immersive experience. This new music composition has three distinct phases that build toward an emotional climax, blending:
๐ป Strings & Harp โ To create a mystical feel ๐ท Wind Instruments โ Such as clarinet & English horn for rich melodies ๐บ Brass โ To intensify dramatic moments
๐ Animals & Creatures Sounds
Weโve also overhauled the sound detection system for animals and creatures to make sure theyโre easily recognizable in the world, no more straining your ears to hear distant threats!

๐๏ธ New Character Rendering System (Julien) Previously, our characters used multiple skinned mesh renderers, making performance heavy when many players were in one place.
Now, weโve implemented UMA (Unity Multipurpose Avatar), which: โ Optimizes character performance โ fewer draw calls, better FPS โ Reduces texture load โ everything is now merged into one mesh

๐ Level Design & New Zones (Magnus) The world of Mithrall is expanding! Weโve created new areas, improving diversity in environments, from lush forests to open plains and dangerous enemy lairs.

๐ฟ Esmerald Meadows โ A dynamic area where players can build, trade, and fight

๐ง Improvements & Additions ๐ณ 20-30 new trees with custom colliders & harvestable data ๐ 20+ new enemy locations with unique encounters ๐ Introducing the ORCS!
โ๏ธ New Zone System โ Green, Orange & Black Zones (Timothรฉe) To balance PvP, building, and exploration, weโve reworked our zone system!
โ Green Zones โ Safe areas, no PvP, no building (towns, spawn points) โ Orange Zones โ PvP optional (Bandits can attack, but will be marked hostile) โ Black Zones โ Full PvP, open-world danger, build anywhere, Claim Territory
๐ก New Features: โ๏ธ Dynamic Zones โ Special areas that override server-wide rules โ๏ธ Green Safe Zones at Region Entrances โ Prevents spawn camping โ๏ธ PvP Arenas in Green Zones โ Controlled battle zones โ๏ธ Realm Tax System in Orange Zones โ Auto-applied game tax in controlled areas โ๏ธ Optimized Map Loading โ Load times reduced from 10 min (in some cases) to 1-2 min!

๐ Mounts are here! Currently, there are two different mounts, but our goal is to make all wild creatures mountable in the future!
๐ Side Note: Server Meshing Fixes & General Improvements Weโve worked hard to fix a lot of issues with server meshing from the last playtest. Thanks to community feedback, weโve been able to optimize performance, improve player synchronization, and make significant stability upgrades.
โ Major bug fixes from the last playtest โ Server meshing is now much smoother โ Performance optimizations for large-scale battles & interactions
