Minimon: Tiny Idle Tactics changes
Demo Update: Endless Overhaul, Detailed Stats & QoL Changes!
Hey everyone! We've got a fresh update for the Minimon: Tiny Idle Tactics demo. This week, we focused heavily on lifting the veil on how your stats work, making Endless Mode completely seamless, smoothing out menu navigation, and improving the new-player experience.
⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTICE: SAVE DATA WIPE ⚠️
Please note that this update requires a complete wipe of your existing save data. We’ve made some foundational changes under the hood that break compatibility with older saves. We know losing progress is never fun, and we want to assure you that we will work to ensure data is never wiped in the full main game. However, during this pre-release demo phase, occasional wipes are unfortunately necessary to keep development moving forward and test new systems accurately. Thank you so much for your understanding and for helping us playtest!
Here is everything new in this patch:
📊 Detailed Stats & UI Polish
New Detailed Stats Breakdown (First Pass!): We've added a new panel that shows exactly where your Minimon's stats are coming from. You can now see a clear mathematical breakdown of your Base Stats, Equipped Items, Permanent Upgrades, and Active Roster Passive Bonuses.
Developer Note: This is a "v1" implementation! You might encounter a few minor bugs, and the UI layout is still actively being polished, but we wanted to get this level of transparency into your hands as soon as possible.
Transparent Ability Tooltips: Equipped ability tooltips now show the exact math behind your final damage and effects (e.g., Base value × Bonus = Final result). No more guessing how much an item is actually helping you!
- Snappier Menus & Instant TabsTired of waiting for menu animations? We've disabled the introductory drop-in animations when using shortcut buttons or flipping back and forth between your Abilities, Items, and Upgrades. Menu swapping is now completely instantaneous!
Smart Currency HUD: The currency bar will now automatically collapse when you open dense menus to save you valuable screen space. It also respects your choices—if you manually minimized it earlier, it won't force itself back open when you exit a menu.
Action Reminders: Never forget to spend your resources! UI buttons will now give a helpful, eye-catching jiggle in two scenarios: when your active Minimon has unspent ability points, and when you have enough currency to afford a level-up for one of your equipped upgrades.
Selling Made Easy:"Sell All Greys" is now fully functional! Your inventory refreshes instantly after selling, and the sell value of items now properly scales with the item's level.
♾️ Endless Mode Overhaul
Zero-Load Transitions: Choosing "Continue in Endless Mode" after a Path Victory now throws you directly into the action with absolutely zero loading screens! You'll retain your current health, position, and acquired upgrades from the run.
Accurate Wave Tracking: Endless now picks up exactly where you left off. If you beat an 11-wave path, your Endless run will seamlessly start on Wave 12.
Smart Resumes from Menu: Starting an Endless run straight from the Main Menu will now automatically check your save file and drop you in at your highest cleared wave for that specific Minimon + Path combo.
Progression Locks: Endless mode is now a true end-game feature. It unlocks globally only after you clear your first Path, and the Endless toggle is hidden for any individual path you haven't beaten on normal mode yet.
Dynamic Scaling: As you push deeper into Endless, enemy spawn rates, loot drop chances, and enemy abilities will scale dynamically based on the current wave milestone.
🎓 Tutorial & Onboarding
Smarter Tutorial Timing: Tutorials now trigger at far more relevant times (like when hitting a specific Minimon level, starting a specific wave, or returning to the menu after your first win) instead of overwhelming you all at once.
- Focus ModeWe've added a system to key tutorial steps that prevents you from accidentally clicking outside the tutorial window, keeping you on track and stopping the UI from breaking or getting stuck.
Path Selection Fixed: Smoothed out the flow for selecting your first Path and Minimon so the prompts appear exactly when they are supposed to.
🎵 Audio & Visual Polish
- 16-Bit SoundtrackWe've added awesome new retro 16-bit chiptune dungeon music to elevate the atmosphere during combat and exploration!
Eardrum Protection: Music volume now defaults to a much more reasonable 10% on fresh installs.
- Color CustomizationAdded more color customization to text in the Upgrade and Mutation screens to make the UI pop and improve overall readability.
Thanks again for playing the demo, bearing with our development growing pains, and sharing your feedback!
