Last weekend we had the chance to be part of Polaris 2025 in Hamburg, three amazing days packed with 50,000 visitors, cosplay, artists, delicious food, and way too many cool things to see and do. For us, it was an unforgettable experience. We met so many players, developers, and passionate people, and we’re incredibly grateful for all the conversations, feedback, and positive energy we received. We were there thanks to Indie Booth Arena, who selected us as one of only ten indie teams in Europe to showcase their projects this year (check them out here). Being part of that lineup already felt like a huge milestone for us.
It was also the very first time players got to try the demo of Midgardr. We’ll be honest: we were excited, but also a bit terrified. Strategy games aren’t the easiest fit for conventions; people usually expect fast-paced titles you can test in a few minutes. We went there thinking, “No one’s going to sit through a 40-minute demo...” And then… the opposite happened.
People queued up to play! Many stayed until the very end of the demo, fully immersed in building their village and facing moral choices. Watching that happen, seeing players really engage with the world of Midgardr, was simply amazing. We came back home tired but incredibly happy (and, honestly, still a bit shocked in the best way possible). So, from the bottom of our hearts: thank you to everyone who stopped by, played the game, asked questions, or even just smiled while walking past our booth. And of course, a huge thank you to Indie Booth Arena and the Polaris team for giving us this incredible opportunity.
You gave us the boost we needed to keep pushing forward with even more energy and love for what we’re building. All hail the Holy Radish 👑
