We're still working on a few things for this stage so it will go away again (for now) after CB is over.

New Stages

New Paul Zone Opponents

  • In the Paul Zone (only), each color paul now has a different playstyle and is labeled with a profile that contains one or more special 'tags' changing how they play.

  • Aggro: less blocking, moves forward more, DPs more up close

  • Jumpy: jumps more

  • Grabby: grabs more

  • Zoner: likes to retreat and throw fireballs

  • DP: likes to DP more

  • Currently, each color besides the default palette is assigned one or two of these 'tags.' For instance, Color 10 Paul has both the 'jumpy' and 'dp' tags, and we have labeled that profile 'Wildcard' in-game.

  • These profiles will also behave differently at higher difficulties. We will likely give them a lot more tuning as we test them further to make sure they present real variety and challenge.

  • We have also made progress on the 'story' of the paul zone and an upgrade system for it, but that's not ready yet and you should see this drop later in the summer.

Other changes

  • The CPU has been adjusted to do less special moves while kd to make it harder to repeatedly oki it to death.

  • Fixed a lock-up issue with the lobby chat feature on Steam Deck.

  • Expanded Brazillian Portuguese translation (thanks Stealph)

  • Mouse menu should no longer show up during dialogue (already a rare occurrence)
