Repeated intro

addedWorking on the First LocationI'm currently finalizing the elevator model and have already started transferring its individual parts into the engine. This work requires not only the creation of the model itself but also the development of new procedural materials, as we don't have a whole team of environment artists to hand-paint every rivet and stone and we don't use neural networks, so we need to somehow automate the work.
addedWorking on the First LocationA lot isn't ready yet, and it's too early to brag, but I'll still add a few screenshots from the engine to show how the process is moving. Steam post imageSteam post imageSteam post image
addedWorking on the new mechI already showed this mech in Devlog 3, and since then it's received arms, legs, and a back, but even now it's still not ready, since I'm torn between it and the orbital elevator. So far, the screenshots are only in the form of a single-color sketch in Blender. I still need to finish the pelvis area, polish up some other small details, add labels, and prepare the model for import into the engine. Then, assemble everything in the engine. When I'm done, I'll definitely record a gameplay video showcasing the new mech. It may not be the epitome of aesthetics, but I think it's quite brutal and militaristic.
addedWorking on the new mechThat concludes the monthly report. We'll be back with new updates soon, most likely not in a month, but in a few weeks. Even much earlier.

This is the second and final part of our monthly progress report. There will be lots of pictures, so let's get started.

Working on the First Location

Since we don't have our own level artist yet, we decided to keep the level design as basic as possible. We agreed that for the first location we would have just one house in the middle of the desert, but we didn't agree on what kind of house it would be or how big it would be, so I decided to have a little fun and started creating an orbital elevator.

I sketched out a 3D concept, and this is what I came up with:

And finally,

Working on the new mech
