The major lag and FPS issues that got worse in later game days have been fixed, save system has been improved, NPC movement is smoother across the board, and store customization has arrived with Steam Workshop support on the way.

How do I join the Unstable beta branch? Right-click Mall Rivals in your Steam library. Select "Properties". Under "Game Version & Betas" select "Unstable".

Key Changes:

  • Employee Management panel — View stats, assign roles, change stores, and fire employees directly from your tablet.

  • Save system improvements — Multiple save-related bugs resolved.

  • Store monitors no longer need to be re-placed after loading a save

  • Text no longer invisible when using Simplified Chinese

  • Custom key bindings no longer reset when loading into a game

  • Getting hit by a bat while in a menu no longer breaks player input

  • Tablet and employee dialogue no longer show stale info from the previous game after loading a save from the pause menu

  • Advertisement posters and banners now display their artwork correctly after loading a save

  • ...and countless small fixes and improvements (honestly too many to list, we lost count)
