Mainland changes
I’m happy to announce that today the demo version of Mainland is receiving a major new update that adds horses!
This significantly improves the gameplay experience and adds more options for combat.
5 horses with different stats and prices have been added to cities, and the 2 existing factions each receive 2 mounted units in their unit progression trees.
And of course, here is the list of other changes and improvements:
Improved performance on the global map. Up to +50% FPS is expected.
Archers have been nerfed in terms of attack speed.
Units now recognize when they are being targeted and will try to defend themselves with shields (which additionally nerfs archers).
Units now have more noticeable clothing colors. For now, the colors are simply green/red; in the future, I will add the actual faction colors.
And a bunch of additional fixes and minor tweaks that I honestly no longer remember in detail 🙂

This is likely the last major update for the public beta version. Going forward, a closed beta test can be expected.
