Salvete amici mei, I had the opportunity to close last year with a blog post in which I talked about my current work with motion capturing and gave a brief year-in-review. Now, I have the honor of opening the new year with a blog post. I’ll keep it short, as there’s a lot to do.
Happy New Year 2025! The Tarock team and I wish you all a happy and healthy year. We’ve set ambitious goals and are excited to have your support along the way.
For Lost Legions, we’re planning an Early Access release in the last quarter of this year. Until then, we’ll provide you with different versions of the game to test. We discussed this plan during our first live community showcase just before Christmas.
This includes inviting you to the first playable version by the end of January. This will most likely be a single-player demo. The multiplayer aspects still need to be brought up to the current standard. The first group of testers will be selected from our newsletter subscribers. With each new version, this exclusive group will expand to include others beyond newsletter subscribers. The main communication will take place on our Discord server. We want you to be part of the development process, and we’re counting on your help in finding bugs. We look forward to your feedback, both general and specific, to improve the game. On the way to the Early Access release on Steam, we’re following our production plan while incorporating your input and working through bug reports. All of this is aimed at delivering a great game and ensuring a successful Early Access launch, which will then lead into another development phase toward version 1.0.
The current version of the game will be shown regularly in live streams, where we can address your questions and feedback. Each new test version will also come with a changelist detailing the latest additions, changes, and known issues. This will allow you to follow the game’s progress. We’ll soon be testing the pipeline for creating tickets, which will then be transferred to our internal system for processing. As part of this, we also plan to improve the structure of our community and finally introduce some ranks and privileges. We’ve been thinking about this for a long time and are excited to work and play more closely with you. All testers who contribute meaningfully will also be invited to be mentioned in the credits.
If there are any YouTubers or Twitch streamers among you who’d like to use the development process for your channel, please contact us directly. We’ll be happy to support you.
This remains true for 2025: We rely on your support! Steam wishlists are our most important currency, and every contribution helps in developing the game. We’re also happy to welcome anyone who joins our Discord server and participates in discussions. The first testers will be our newsletter subscribers, as we promised last year, and we’re sticking to that. 2025 is going to be our year. We’re excited! Join us and spread the word! Best, Jens
