As long as the Lost Isle has been around adventurers have come seeking treasure, zealots have come seeking faith, and kings have come seeking power. Most of them leave the Isle, or this life, long before they leave their mark. Some fared better, enough to leave something more than their bones behind. Today, we take a closer look at some of these remnants.

Venerable Structures

Not all the stories that shaped the Lost Isle are remembered. Such is the case with this first type of remnant. What must have once been splendid architecture now sits as ruins, unable to tell the tale of those who built it. That doesn't mean you can't pry the story loose yourself though. Their original builders must have hid secrets in here somewhere. Right?

Not So Far Gone

Some remnants of the Isle weren't made too far in the distant past... though its inhabitants might have a hard time telling you their stories, since they've likely been killed or eaten. Judging from the upkeep of these structures that is.

Lighthouses still stand along the coast, their keepers long gone but their stores often left intact. Villages sit corrupted or ruined, their former residents now part of whatever twisted thing pushed them out. The wreckage isn't all bad news though. These more recent ruins sometimes hide an impressive piece of tech: the Recycler.

The Recycler breaks an item back down into its base parts. Have a sword with a bad enchant? Recycle it and make it again.

Readily Claimed Resources

Needing resources as much as you do, some of your predecessors on the Isle dug mines, found water sources, and stocked fishing holes. They failed at reaping the benefits of their hard work. Now there is no one stopping you from reaping it for them.

Mineshafts dug deep into the rock, with ore still waiting in the walls for whoever brings the right pick. Watering holes someone thought to clear and protect, ready to refill your flask. Fishing shacks parked right at the water's edge, though you'll still need a trap to make use of them.

Human Resilience

Despite all the forgotten history and ruined stories scattered across the Lost Isle, hope still hangs on. Factions push out into the wilds to set up trading posts, staffed and open for business. You and your friends build bases and write your own stories. The old remnants prove the Isle eventually takes everything. The new ones being raised right now prove people keep trying anyway.

If there's one thing to learn from the Isle, its that human tenacity finds a way.
