Liminal Shroud changes
I recently came across something incredibly cool that I just had to share.
A YouTuber named bubblevader recreated Liminal Shroud inside Minecraft, and somehow managed to capture the same uneasy, dreamlike atmosphere we were aiming for in the original game.
Check out the video here:
What genuinely impressed me is how faithfully they translated the visual language of the game into a completely different medium. The lighting, the empty spaces, the uneasy atmosphere… it’s all there.
And yes, they even recreated the excessive curtains!
Seeing those layered curtains show up in block form was surreal (and honestly kind of hilarious in the best way). It’s a specific detail, and they absolutely nailed it.
Why this means a lot
As a developer, it’s always wild to see people engage with your work, but seeing someone reinterpret it like this hits differently. There’s a level of understanding and care that went into this that I really appreciate.
It also reinforces something important about the game: The atmosphere isn’t just about visuals. It’s about the environment being the main character… This is why it translates even in Minecraft.

Huge thanks to bubblevader for putting this together. It genuinely made my day to see.
Let me know what you all think of their recreation!
