ai chatbot released for life's a beach

with updates you always break something which is why we try to do them infrequently. so weve reverted the updates but we will reapply them before the steam summer sale.

okay so the chatbot update needed for the achievement update is complete. the achievement update still needs to be done. still enjoy the chatbot.

okay so we fixed everything on low end configs you can use the faster baked lighting loading map for 480p or if you want to the dynamic lighting map that is the default for other resolutions.

we are really proud of our chatbot. we were working on it many years before we ever started this game. in any case the idea with the hidden achievement update which hasn't been released yet but is in progress. Is 1) we need a way to make hidden achievements that aren't part of actual achievements but are part of the save file mean something.

at the moment those aren't implemented but you could literally talk to our chatbot anytime while life's a beach is booted basically anytime you wanna pause and register the hilarious things happening in the game and that would increase the playime for the game mwahhahahhahhahahahahaha hh h h h a

currently there is only an hour of gameplay even without the chatbot the hidden achievements will add 2 hours worth of playtime.

currently the only interesting thing non chatbot wise is the edge of the map has a hidden secret now in preparation for the mexico map but it's unrelated at the moment as we just put the loading area for that area in. it loads but youll see if you go over there.

basically the normal lighting map had some duplicate code that was correct on the faster loading map but incorrect on the normal lighting map. it can easily be fixed and well fix it before the steam summer sale.

so we looked at the australia law and it either only deals with social media use and ai or sexual content and self harm content and ai. im definetly not for government overreach but in any case the law doesn't apply to the chatbot added to life's a beach.

there was a glitch when we were updating the game that caused it respond with I have no answer on boot that has since been fixed.

there will eventually be a terminal where a chatbot can chat to you about your achievements and secret codes will be sent from the game to java to allow the chatbot to congratulate with a unique sentence after a hidden achievement. these still aren't implemented, but hopefully well make the deadline.

were planning on adding mexico to the game which could influence the rating. it's based on a youtube video I made but if you haven't seen it I won't spoil it.

so we haven't completed abandoned doing traditional updates. but we need a way to add more to each area to give people more to do.
