Changes for This Playtest
In order of the highest number of feedback items from the previous playtest:
“Conveyor belt performance load”
“Lack of Guidance for Beginners”
“Lack of Strategic Diversity”
“Factory Edit Function Is Not Intuitive”
We have worked to resolve these four issues. We will introduce the measures we have implemented for each.
“Conveyor Belt Performance Load”
We completely rebuilt the conveyor belt system from scratch.
Please refer to our previous news post for more details. view
“Lack of Guidance for Beginners”
We have implemented a mission-based tutorial.
We have carefully explained the controls and other mechanics so that even beginners to factory games can understand the flow of the game.
Additionally, aiming for a state where you can play the game intuitively without complex controls, we have also focused on improving the factory editing feature. For more on this point, please refer to the section below titled “The Factory Editing Feature Is Not Intuitive.”
“Lack of Strategic Diversity”
The strategic diversity in this game stems from the combinations of “sponsor companies” that assist with factory development.
In the previous playtest, four companies were implemented. Since three of these companies are selected simultaneously, there were only 4 possible combinations.
With the implementation of the new company, “Venera Staffing Agency,” players can now enjoy the game with more than twice as many combinations— 10 patterns.
“Venera Staffing Agency” is a sponsor company that supplies “Summoner Witches”, who consume magic to craft items for sale.
The most distinctive feature of the Summoner Witch is that you can craft Summoner Witches from the very start of the game. In other words, once your setup is in place, your production capacity will grow infinitely.
However, her ability to pay off debt is somewhat limited, and she is not very good at securing resources. Choosing which sponsor companies to pair her with will be crucial.
That’s right—it’s all about the combinations. In the previous playtest, sponsor companies were selected completely at random, but now you can choose them yourself!
We’ve revised the design so that players now select three sponsors to develop a single randomly selected plot of land.
We made these changes to create a design that offers a more enjoyable experience as players strategize. Please share your thoughts with us in the feedback section.
“The Factory Edit Feature Is Not Intuitive”
Although the number of feedback comments was lower than the other three issues, as mentioned earlier, we believed this would also resolve the “reasons beginners struggle,” so we put a lot of effort into improving it.
Our common focus was on “reducing the number of clicks” and “allowing editing without pressing the rotation keys”.
When observing first-time players at events like trade shows, we found that “understanding the system where items won’t be transported unless they’re aligned and connected” was a significant hurdle.
To address this, we aimed to create a state where “you don’t need to align the orientation yourself in the first place”.
Revision 1: “Enhanced Drag-and-Drop Placement for Familiars and Conveyors”
You can now place familiars by dragging. Hold down the click and trace a circle around a mining point to place mining goblins in all directions. When you drag to place a conveyor, it will automatically follow your cursor. Its orientation will also be set automatically. You no longer need to press the R key every time you encounter a winding curve.
Update 2: “Improved Familiar Snapping”
Various familiars will now snap to adjacent objects.
In the sequence of operations shown in the image, the rotation key was not pressed even once.
Snap Targets
General: Does not snap to familiars of the same type
Mining Goblin: Snaps to mining points (No change)
Transport Raven: Snaps to adjacent item output ports
Crafting familiars & Transport output: Snaps to adjacent item input ports
Update 3: “Work Status” and “Copy/Paste”
Task status is now displayed above the familiar's head.
Additionally, you can now copy and paste familiars and crafting recipes.
Task Status
Stalled
Displays a “?” mark (no recipe set, insufficient ingredients, etc.)
Crafting in Progress
Displays a progress icon
Copy and Paste
Press Q to copy a familiar or a set recipe
Press E to paste (Hold and drag to summon multiple in a row)
Empty Slot: Summon a familiar with a set recipe
Same Type of Familiar: Overwrite the recipe setting
To all factory managers who nearly developed carpal tunnel syndrome at the Lemonade Factory, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
Combined with snapping and conveyor drag, you can now deploy large numbers of familiars with minimal effort.
You no longer need to issue commands one by one, and it’s now easy to spot any familiars that haven’t received a command.
Experimental Update
This update significantly affects existing features. As this may lead to unexpected bugs, please use the bug report form if you encounter any issues.
Access to Key Config (Beta) is now available from the title screen
Map loading now occurs sequentially after the game starts, significantly reducing startup load times
Shared Exits for Transport Ravens
Multiple Ravens can now share an exit. When an exit is retrieved, all linked Ravens are retrieved as well.
This update was inspired by great feedback from the community. Thank you to all the Factory Managers who participated in the discussion.
Other Updates
Items are no longer deleted when overwriting a conveyor
Resources can now be obtained by delivering to “Portals”
Doubled the default movement speed of Transport Ravens
Adjustments to various contracts
“Explosion” effect reworked: Obtain random resources each time it is used
“Slime Completion Plan” Rarity: Epic → Legendary
“Build Faster” removed
“Build More”: Raw materials and output tripled → doubled
Added game start animation
Other display and bug fixes
That’s all. We hope you enjoy the playtest until the final day!
