What changed
- Gameplay
We’re currently hard at work getting the Kitman public playtest ready to go - aiming to have a playable build ready for you in a few weeks. In the meantime we want to make sure that we have a worthwhile game to show off first!
To help us figure out exactly what to include in the playtest build, we recently ran a poll on our Discord asking about features people would like to see added to the game. The clear winner was the Manager’s Office – a room for players to adjust tactics and make substitutions to the team lineup.
The Manager’s Office is a great place for us to start building out the tactical side of Kitman. In addition to the day to day tasks of keeping the locker rooms clean and the athletes supplied with the kit they need, Kitmen will have the opportunity to make tactical choices shape the direction of the club.

In other words, Kitmen will be called upon to do the gaffer’s job for him, since he doesn’t seem to know what he's doing.
Unlocking the manager’s office will also add new missions to match day, like brewing the manager a fresh cup of coffee to give him enough energy to yell at the players!
We are very excited to see how this new room fits into our core gameplay loop. What do you think? Anything that you'd like to see added to the Manager's Office?
Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the launch of the public playetet. To stay in touch with the latest developments and chat to us about features you’d like to see added to the game next, pop on over to the Outlier Discord.
Love,
Paul & the Outlier team
