Hello Test Subjects!
We’ve been working hard on getting new content and updates into the game in preparation for our next playtest, so here’s a quick look into what we’ve been cooking up in our lab…
Killing Things at Next Fest!
Killing Things With Your Friends is coming to June Next Fest from June 15th until June 22nd!
We’ll have an all new demo with a whole host of new features that weren’t in our open playtest in April, so keep your eyes peeled for when our demo goes live.
New content includes:
Proximity Chat
B asketball !?
6+ New Challenge Rooms
Steam Invites & Joins
New interaction mechanics
New scoring system
Progression
And more!
Plus tons of alterations to how levels generate, including the addition of various dangerous new passages for you to lose those fleshy limbs.
Challenge Rooms
Challenges are the bread and butter of Killing Things With Your Friends and the key to earning the gold that allows you to progress, so naturally, we’ve designed a whole bunch!
There are now over 25 unique challenges, with even more in the works.
Let us know in the comments what puzzles or challenges you’d like to see, or jump into our Discord and join our suggestion forum!
We don’t want to spoil them all, but here’s a sneak peek at couple you haven’t seen:
Think you can figure out how to solve these puzzles?
Fun Rooms
Fun rooms are dangerous little passages that add to the chaos of exploring Exogen Labs’ winding halls, providing mini platforming puzzles and obstacles for you to overcome.
Dodge strafing lasers, time your jumps, and maybe you’ll get out alive…
Loot Rooms & Spawn Pods
There are a whole bunch more variations of loot rooms and locations for spawn pods, now sometimes gated behind doors that need fresh meat.
Be careful when you open them though, they’re not always what they seem…
These features are still a work-in-progress and there will be lots of balancing changes before and after Next Fest, but we’re already having a blast seeing who takes the cake at the end of every round... more on that next time.
We’ll have another update for you before we head into Steam Next Fest, so keep an eye out for that development log.
Cheers,
– KTWYF Team
