For this month's update, we have decided to hold back on some of the content that we were going to add. Throughout the month of August, we plan to be working on optimizing our current systems as much as possible. This will make adding content in the future far easier. Now let's get into what exactly has changed in this update.
Combat Improvements
We have made a number of improvements to melee combat. One of the more notable changes being that we have added a combat tutorial to the start of a new game. Upon picking up the starting axe with this option on, a tutorial enemy will come to fight you and will explain how to fight. Along with the tutorial, we have added a new property to tools/weapons. This is whether a tool/weapon is sharp or blunt. With sharp weapons, you may do more damage however they will not knock back the enemy. With blunt weapons, you will do slightly less damage but you will end up knocking the enemy back.
Some other small improvements include
Made enemy camps smaller
Increased throwable range
Enemies notice when you throw things near them
Enemies notice when you are shooting at them
Shovels
Shovels have been added as a new tool that is craftable from stone or metal. This tool allows you to dig in the snow. You may find treasure maps while exploring. These will bring you to a special location with something buried beneath the snow.
