changedWhere is it?On the horizon! I had hoped to have the beta updated with multiplayer included by Halloween this year. I have it mostly working now but there's still a few bugs left to tackle. As much as I would like to support more frequent updates throughout the year, I want to make sure that the game run smoothly during Early Access. I don't have a release date, but I'm hoping to have it out in the next month or so.
changedWhy Beta Update? This is the first multiplayer experience I've cooked up to this level. I want to make sure we have a way to test it on a larger scale before including it in the base game, even for Early Access.
addedWhy is it Taking so Long? This one is embarrassing but I love being transparent about my game dev journey. At the start of Junebug vs. Evil, I was considering adding multiplayer and decided not to. Now in 2025, I have to admit that the game grew into a larger project than intended.
addedWhy is it Taking so Long? It's clear that Junebug vs. Evil would be complete with a co-op multiplayer mode included. I wasn't sure if this was possible, I'll admit, but I've worked hard to make it so. However, adding multiplayer to a nearly complete singleplayer game is a total nightmare. Not only am I improving old code, I'm having to rewrite entire game mechanics and systems to make complicated network stuff happen correctly.

Hi all!

It's been a minute on the development news side of things! Sorry for the length between this update and the last, I won't go into solo developer struggles as I want to focus on the cool progress I've been making on adding multiplayer to Junebug vs. Evil.

Where is it?

On the horizon!

Why Beta Update?

This is the first multiplayer experience I've cooked up to this level. I want to make sure we have a way to test it on a larger scale before including it in the base game, even for Early Access.

Why is it Taking so Long?

This one is embarrassing but I love being transparent about my game dev journey. At the start of Junebug vs. Evil, I was considering adding multiplayer and decided not to. Now in 2025, I have to admit that the game grew into a larger project than intended.

Thank You!

So much as evolved from my initial vision that it's practically a different game entirely. I'm happy to say that this was because of all the great feedback that you, the players, have given me. So, thank you for all the support and patience as I build our fun zombie slayer indie game! I couldn't have gotten this far with you.
