Before we get started, a quick heads-up:Our playtest is now open, and you can join anytime.

Soap

In the previous devlog, we talked about the basic function of Soap.

But if you think it’s just something to collect…you might be underestimating it.

In Jelly Bubble, soap can actually be launched as a projectile.

And it doesn’t just fly blindly.

It will automatically lock onto marked targets.

Which means…

The most aggressive player on the field?

Yeah, they’re probably not getting away.

In a way, this is intentional.

The stronger you are, the more likely you are to get focused.

But here’s the problem—

If every soap just “hits once,” that would be pretty boring.

So we decided to give them a bit more… personality.

Right now, you might encounter a few types like these:

Bomb Soap

Simple and brutal.A direct hit will cause your opponent to drop extra soap.

Land it successfully?Their inventory goes down… and so does their confidence.

Swap Soap

Hit an opponent and instantly switch positions with them.

IF you can find the right angle, this becomes extremely powerful.

Shield Soap

This one activates when you’re being attacked by soap.

It creates a temporary shield that blocks all negative effects.

No panic. No damage. Just a clean denial.

These changes make combat a little more… unpredictable (in a good way).It’s no longer just about who has more soap.

Now you have to think:Do I save it and grow stronger…or use it right now and go all in?

Because in the end,every piece of soap is a choice.

As more and more features come together, we’re getting ready to open a new round of playtests.

Here are some questions and answers about how the playtest will work.

I want to help improve JellyBubble, how can I participate in the playtest?

The playtest will stay open for long time

Just go to our Steam page and click “Request Access” under Join the Jelly Bubble Playtest.

We’ll be inviting players continuously — so jump in and sign up!

I’ve been given access, can I invite a friend?

Yes! You can invite up to 3 friends so you can all play together!

How can I give feedback?

We’ll use our Discord server to receive both bugs and improvement suggestions. If you don’t use Discord, you can use the JellyBubble Playtest forum thread on Steam.

Developer Challenge.

During specific time windows, members of our dev team will jump into the game and play matches with everyone.

If you manage to defeat the developers, you’ll have a chance to earn some small rewards.

Simple as that:Come into the game and challenge us.

Event Time (Planned)

Since players are joining from different regions, we’ll be showing up during the following time window:

Every Friday–Sunday (Beijing Time)

00:00 – 01:00 (UTC+8)

Which corresponds to:(CET)17:00 – 18:00 ,(ET)11:00 – 12:00

Rewards

If you complete certain challenges during the Developer Challenge, you may receive:

  • keys for the JellyBubble launch

  • Your name featured in future devlogs

  • Priority access to future playtests

And of course, the most important reward:

Successfully knocking a developer into the water.

Your Feedback Matters

Your feedback during the playtest will help us improve the game in many ways, including:

  • Game balance

  • Map design

  • Readability during chaotic fights

  • Unexpected strategies we never thought of

  • And most importantly this time — server stability

Many of our best ideas come directly from player testing.
