Hunt for the Lost Folktales changes
🐺 Greeting Huntresses & Hunters!
This is a little developer update about the Demo coming to Steam next month & to share a new Demo Reveal Trailer to give a little teaser of what's to come!
🎞️ New Demo Reveal Trailer
Been working on getting new trailers for the upcoming Demo Launch, here is a look at the Demo Reveal Trailer to share a short glimpse of what you can find in the demo experience:
🎮 Demo Coming Soon
Really soon, in fact the Demo is dropping next month in April 2026!
The exact date will be announced in a new Demo Launch trailer that is currently in the works. There will be extended gameplay footage of all the features that you can expect in the demo!
💫 Make sure to Wishlist the game to be notified when the Demo Launches next month!
🚨 Enemy Detection Zones
To share an update on the game and to give you more insight in terms of gameplay:
In Exploration Mode, you will be able to freely explore a level location to investigate folktale trails, discover buried items, and stealthily sneak past enemy patrols or ambush them into battle.
⚔️ Plan out your Strategy
In Combat Mode, this is where the Fear-Stacking Turn-based combat tests your tactical planning on how best to position your party to utilize the environmental tiles to your advantage. Remember Fear is your strength and weakness, where a character will take Damage equal to their Fear stack.
🎨🪶Books, Rewards, and Upgrades!
In the Library main hub, this is your safe haven where you return the captured Folktale Books back to get rewarded, upgrade your party to enhance their skills and improve their stats, and dive into the Wild Woodlands world book to access all the level locations you discovered from your journey.
📢 Stay Tuned for more updates!
As a solo indie game developer, it is quite the learning experience to balance both the game development and marketing sides. So far, I post an update on Steam on how the development is going every other month. If you would like more frequent updates, I post on the linked social media every week to share little videos of what I am currently working on or what's new.
Next post I will unveil the Demo Launch trailer, but until then I leave you with a look at the helpful Wisp Seekers you can summon to help find lost items:
