changed🏃‍♀️ 8-direction movement for AdèleA big part of December was dedicated to making Adèle move in 8 directions instead of 4!
changed🏃‍♀️ 8-direction movement for AdèleThis sounds simple on paper, but it turned into a bit of a time consuming task. We had to draw all the missing body parts, duplicate and adapt skeletons in Blender, manually draw keyframes, and redo animations to make sure everything stayed consistent and natural.
changed🏃‍♀️ 8-direction movement for AdèleIt took some patience, but the result makes movement in the game feel much smoother and more alive! We still have some work to do on the animations, but the basis is there.

🏃‍♀️ 8-direction movement for Adèle

A big part of December was dedicated to making Adèle move in 8 directions instead of 4!

This sounds simple on paper, but it turned into a bit of a time consuming task. We had to draw all the missing body parts, duplicate and adapt skeletons in Blender, manually draw keyframes, and redo animations to make sure everything stayed consistent and natural.

It took some patience, but the result makes movement in the game feel much smoother and more alive! We still have some work to do on the animations, but the basis is there.

🎄 A refreshed area around Peter’s house

We also completely remodeled the landscape around Peter’s house! The terrain has been reshaped to feel more interesting to explore, and we added some new harvestable bushes.

On top of that, Peter now has a workbench and a mushroom dehydrator right next to his house!

To make this change more noticeable and satisfying, we added a short cinematic where the camera zooms in and the dehydrator appears in a puff of smoke. A small moment, but one we love.

Peter himself also got a slight makeover: we tweaked his portrait to make him look a bit older.

🔨 A more flexible crafting mini game

We made an important change to our crafting mini game!

Previously, you had to select a single recipe, then align its ingredients in the correct order on a 4x4 grid with some blocked cells, as many times as possible.

Now, you can craft multiple products in one go!

Instead of choosing just one recipe, you can align the ingredients of several recipes on the same grid.

Some recipes use three ingredients, others use four, and the blocked cells still add a puzzle challenge. If you manage to align the same recipe more than once, you will produce multiple items at once.

This new version is more flexible, more strategic, and much more fun to play! Overall, it will strengthen the crafting aspects of the game.

Thank you so much for following our development and supporting us! We see your likes! 💚
