Howdy all 🤠

I shipped the new Content Update last night, there should be an update queued next time you open Steam 👍

Per the #dev-schedule channel in the Discord, these Content Updates ship every other Wednesday and Patches ship as soon as they are ready. The main difference is that Content Updates will always have new content (levels, weapons, enemies, etc.) whereas Patches may just be bug fixes/addressing quick feedback/etc

TL;DR - New Content

  • Added an actual ending if you clear the tower :)

  • You now unlock Weapons/Gadgets gradually by collecting stars

  • Added 2 new Combat Modules

  • New Weapon Card: Sonic Waves - cuts through multiple enemies with soothing sound waves

  • Relaxed difficulty curve based on beta feedback (first floor should be less intimidating now)

Here's a fun GIF of the new Weapon Card - Sonic Waves:

How to Play the Content Update

If you want to play new content as Content Updates ship, join the Discord and DM me (@Tadatoto) for a Beta Key.

Aside from new content, this update has a lot of balance work, bug fixes, and polish. Much of the changes are based on great feedback from Discord community members playing the beta, so a big thank you to those folks.

Polish/Balance

  • Recalibrated aiming reticules/crosshairs to be more accurate

  • Lowered health and damage of Floor 1 enemies - difficulty scales more slowly.

  • Lowered health of Floor 1 bosses - they were too tanky. Might still need lowered

  • Increased range of your turrets

  • Grenade enemies knock you back less

  • Elite Combat Challenges now have less enemies spawned at a slower rate

  • Lava Elite Combat Challenge relaxed - less enemies, bigger stage to fight on.

  • Relaxed burn damage so it's less punishing

  • Weapon drop rates modified so powerful stuff drops later

Bug Fixes

  • Smash attacks now smash through enemies instead of getting canceled if you land directly on an enemy

  • Some lighting that was messed up rebaked

  • Fixed poison/effect VFX on drones

Hope you are able to take the update for a spin! If you do, I'd love to hear what you think. If you run into any issues please don't hesitate to @ me in the Discord.

Next up is a Patch with bug fixes/polish I'll try to get out in the next few days.

Next Content Update will ship 2 weeks from now, 09/09
