changedWe're happy to announce that Halls of Nyarlathotep will be present at Steam Next Fest! From October 13 to October 20 you'll be able to play a first public demo version of our game. We can't wait to hear your first impressions and feedback. We're working very hard to deliver you as much as we can, but at the same time, we want to make sure the demo will be stable and polished. Striking that balance is challenging, especially since it's the first time we'll be releasing a game to the public.
changedWe're happy to announce that Halls of Nyarlathotep will be present at Steam Next Fest!7 available Sigils - among them a beam of force that destroys both walls and enemies or a spell that produces flames with your every step
changedStretch goalsBoared Dog may look bored but it's definitely ambitious! Over the next month we'll be working on changing the labyrinth generation algorithm to make it more interesting to explore (and to improve performance). There is also a weapon upgrade system being brewed in the background. Whether these make it into the demo depends on how fast the development will go - we don't want to make false promises.

We're happy to announce that Halls of Nyarlathotep will be present at Steam Next Fest!

That being said, what you can expect from the demo:

  • Core loop of the game - procedurally generated mazes filled with lovecraftian enemies

  • 4 available weapons:

    • Soul Warden .45 - arcane revolver, that transforms lost souls into bullets

    • Elder Sign - magical amulet able to repel enemies with shockwaves

    • Sanquinara - blood-feeding macuahuitl that fires energy waves when swung

    • Lightning Gun - Yithian technological wonder shooting lightning arcs in two modes

  • 7 available Sigils - among them a beam of force that destroys both walls and enemies or a spell that produces flames with your every step

  • Insanity system

  • Boss fight with Umr At-Tawil, Guardian of the Gate!

These are things that we simply must deliver - they are already developed, we just need to go through some more polishing and bug fixing.

Stretch goals

Boared Dog may look bored but it's definitely ambitious! Over the next month we'll be working on changing the labyrinth generation algorithm to make it more interesting to explore (and to improve performance). There is also a weapon upgrade system being brewed in the background. Whether these make it into the demo depends on how fast the development will go - we don't want to make false promises.
