changedWe're at version 150 since this Monday, making progress with the things that happen in the middle of the table (as well as with the translation into Simplified Chinese; I'm not sure if we should say Mandarin or SC, but whatever the name, this language is used by the largest chunk of the audience of Gremlins, Inc.) –
changedThere's still a few things left to do, and then we're off to updating the main menu and the in-session menu, following which it's server time, and finally Steam Playtest time.
changedThis is a card that already works in the game, but that can be improved in terms of the UI flow: with this realization, we need to keep all the 3 cards open until late, as you assign cards as resources.
changed(2) if you have only 1 project, then from the moment you take 1 card into your hand, we can auto-assign the remaining 2 resources to that single project, and save everyone's time (no need to assign, and click on the "confirm" button).
changedAs we prepare to open the sign-ups for Steam Playtest, we re-considered the name of the game itself and felt that Gremlins, Inc. – Card Game is a bit too close to the core Gremlins, Inc. game, which also has cards. And so we decided to update the title to Gremlins, Inc. – Cards & Projects. Which will remain in English in all the languages.

We're at version 150 since this Monday, making progress with the things that happen in the middle of the table (as well as with the translation into Simplified Chinese; I'm not sure if we should say Mandarin or SC, but whatever the name, this language is used by the largest chunk of the audience of Gremlins, Inc.) –

A small improvement you can notice here: the frame around the card being played right now, shown in the middle of the table, reflects the color of the player who plays it (in this case, it's me, and it's in green).

There's still a few things left to do, and then we're off to updating the main menu and the in-session menu, following which it's server time, and finally Steam Playtest time.

I think it will be still a few weeks when we get there, but we aim to at least open the sign-ups for that Playtest from the coming week, when the Steam Board Games Fest starts.

The sort of issues that we're ironing out right now, for your entertainment:

Open 3 cards from the deck. Assign 2 as resources to your projects, take the remaining 1 in your hand.

This is a card that already works in the game, but that can be improved in terms of the UI flow: with this realization, we need to keep all the 3 cards open until late, as you assign cards as resources.

Now, in case like this, we make the following change:

Open 3 cards from the deck. Take 1 in your hand. Assign the other 2 as resources to your projects.

Nothing changes materially, but please observe this:

(1) from the moment you take 1 card into your hand, we can transform the cards in the middle of the table into resource capsules. As by this time, it doesn't matter what these cards were, all that matters, is what kind of resources they represent. Easier context for decision-making!

(2) if you have only 1 project, then from the moment you take 1 card into your hand, we can auto-assign the remaining 2 resources to that single project, and save everyone's time (no need to assign, and click on the "confirm" button).

As a result, the game becomes a tiny bit easier to grasp, and faster to play => higher session intensity, our main aim. This is the sort of thing that we're currently busy with...

And one more thing.

As we prepare to open the sign-ups for Steam Playtest, we re-considered the name of the game itself and felt that Gremlins, Inc. – Card Game is a bit too close to the core Gremlins, Inc. game, which also has cards. And so we decided to update the title to Gremlins, Inc. – Cards & Projects. Which will remain in English in all the languages.
