Hi Sproutling fans!

It's been another month, so it's time for another sneak peek at what Máté has been cooking up behind the scenes!

Decoration System Revamp

Sproutlings are now able to perceive decorations that are not immediately near their homes! The housing adjacency bonus has been removed, and decorations now cover more ground. This means that to craft a perfect neighbourhood, you'll need to alternate building houses and decor, and optimise the zones that decorations overlap. Gone are the days of unsightly clumps of houses!

New Art!

The new robot enemies have graduated from featureless clumps of pixels to fully realised machines of havoc! If they weren't so intent on ravaging your colony, they'd almost be cute... Thanfkully, to fend them off, the EMP towers also received new visuals!

And more!

We're constantly iterating under the hood with new changes, some of which are too early in development or too experimental to share, but here's a short list of a few things currently being tinkered with:

  • A new building to help slow down bots

  • A new building to help Sproutlings remove harmful/unbuildable ground objects

  • The ability to move buildings without needing to break & rebuild them (highly requested by our demo players!)

  • The ability to save progression data in a local profile, letting multiple saves with different progression exist on the same machine

  • A new zone rumored to hold the neural core of the bot network!

We can't wait to share these with you (once they're a bit more presentable), but the best way to keep up with the development of the game is to join us on our social media:

Thank you all, and speak again soon!
