Since our last update we have been steadily working on the game, and we are happy to announce that the development of almost every back-end system has been completed.

This means that now there is:

  • a working tutorial, to introduce the various mechanisms of the game; the Objectives, Inventory and Journal panels for instance

  • a new hint system

  • a redesigned save system

  • localization support, so you can change between languages

  • full controller support, now in the menus as well and an alternative control scheme for just keyboards

We have also added a couple of community suggestions, for example the ability to toggle the inspection sound or a small target reticule to make it easier to navigate whilst playing.

As we have stated a couple of months earlier, the demo uses the latest lighting technology from Unreal Engine, Lumen. The entire lighting of the rooms has been remade with the advantages and shortcomings of this system in mind. Hopefully, now you should really feel like you are trapped in here during the evening.

While this part of the development is done, we have still more tasks ahead of us. We have been working on the puzzles on the island and polishing everything to look, feel and sound as nice as we can make it!

When we are closer to completion we will be back with another post.

Thank you! Crimsonite Team
