God Save Birmingham changes
[UPDATE on June 5 12:00 PM PT - Patch Notes for Build #444]
Changes in Build #444
Deployed on June 5 12:00 PM PT
Fixed the issue where some zombies in the Priory respawn even after being killed
Fixed the issue where attacking zombies with a spear type weapon across a doorway sometimes did not register as hits
Fixed the issue where the game would be set to Korean upon initial launch
Fellow Core Testers,
Thanks all for participating in the first Core Group Test. We hope to run these closed tests with you before opening things up to the public in the future.
This particular test will help us determine when we can run our Beta, and it runs from today through Monday. So jump in, explore, and let us know what you think.
Here's a look at what's new since Alpha.
Survival
Weather is now in the game. Rain, wind, fog changes how you survive. Read more about it HERE
Temperature ties into your shelter. Staying indoors, maintaining a fire, and dressing appropriately affect how well you manage the cold
Sleep quality is affected by your bedding, room warmth, and how secure your surroundings are
Berries and vegetables can be foraged from forests and gardens around town
River water can be drawn to fill containers, and used to wash or drink from directly
Physics & Movement
Physical interactions now have stamina costs where it makes sense. Strenuous actions like hauling items from the bottom of a pile or swinging furniture at a zombie will drain stamina
Ladders can be climbed, windows can be an entry point to buildings
Fire can spread to nearby wooden objects to grow into bigger fires, and it will burn your character
Crafting
Carpentry, Blacksmithing, and Tailoring have been added. Craft tools, weapons, clothing, and more
Advanced recipes let you craft not just equipment but the ingredients and components to make them
Supplies spawn with a mix of fixed rules and randomness, so no two runs look identical
Combat
New weapons including swords and halberds are now available, each with a unique moveset and stats
Combat animations are faster and more responsive
New shout action lets you deliberately draw zombies to a location
Misc.
The Guide Journal has been updated based on Alpha feedback. A light tutorial and story thread now opens the game in a new starting location
A Mini map with marker has been added to help with navigation
We know everyone wants to play God Save Birmingham with friends, and we're working on co-op multiplayer as we speak. It's not in this test build yet, but rest assured--it is coming, and you, our Core Testers, will be the first to play it when the time comes.
Until then, please jump in and leave us your feedback via the survey (link in the game's title screen)!
And don't forget to join the exclusive Core-Tester-only Discord channel to freely discuss the game and share screenshots with other testers: https://discord.gg/uxTxqPX7
