changedThis patch focuses on making the UI more intuitive and the game more controller-friendly. It took me longer than expected, as I had to do an in-depth rewrite of the focus and navigation logic, and experiment a bit to find an intuitive configuration.
changedFor long-time players: the mouse buttons in combat have been swapped, left click now gives the basic orders. I think it's fast to get used to this setting, but if you prefer the previous one there an option for that.
addedUILeft click is now used for the giving default order (I added an option to revert to the previous right click if you prefer.)
changedUIThe combat UI shows more clearly when a gob will move before acting
changedUIReworked UI navigation, making the game playable with a controller without using the mouse
changedUIPrepared "official" controller and Steam Deck templates

Here is the changelog:

UI

  • Left click is now used for the giving default order (I added an option to revert to the previous right click if you prefer.)

  • The combat UI shows more clearly when a gob will move before acting

  • Reworked UI navigation, making the game playable with a controller without using the mouse

  • Prepared "official" controller and Steam Deck templates

  • Inventory tooltips now show equipped items

Graphics

  • New images for troll cities

  • Added a small dark border below buildings so they don't look like they're "floating" on the map

  • Improved road images

  • Randomized the pitch of some sounds

Fixes

  • Fixed crash when setting the "Particles" graphics option to "None"

  • Fixed the worldmap rendering black on first run on (some?) Steam Deck + Proton setups

  • And many others

As always, if you find any issues I missed while testing, don't hesitate to get in touch! You can reach me on Discord or on the Steam forum.
