Glyphscape changes
Hi everyone, Geouug here!
I just wanted to take a moment to share some of the features that are on the way in the upcoming 1.1 update. This update is focused on expanding the variety of monsters, loot, and glyphs throughout the world of Lunamin.
Below are some previews of included features in Glyphscape 1.1:
Achievements
One of the most commonly requested features is Steam Achievements, which are included in Glyphscape 1.1. The achievements are 100% achievable in one playthrough, but the game may be finished without obtaining all achievements.
Leveling & XP
The leveling-up system in Glyphscape 1.1 has been adjusted to allow for more specialized builds at higher levels. The level cap has been increased from 30 to 40, and the skill cap has been increased from 20 to 30, and the number of skill points granted at odd-numbered levels has been reduced from 2 to 1.
The XP granted from each enemy is now tied to the challenge rating of the enemy. The challenge rating is determined based on enemy stats (previously the sole determiner of XP gained), in addition to factors such as group size and special enemy characteristics.
New Equipment
Over 250 new unique weapons, apparel, and jewelry pieces have been added, and the ASCII art for all equipment has been greatly improved.
All apparel items have been overhauled to create a greater diversity of effects. New passive effects have been added that may prove more useful than raw DEF value. Some new negative passive effects have been added to certain armor types to limit their effectiveness in all player builds.
Encounters
1.0 encounters often consist of only one or two enemy types. Encounters in 1.1 have been reworked to include a variety of complimentary enemies, to incentivize more strategic play. For example, perhaps one enemy deals a particular element, and its companions inflict a vulnerability to that element.
The difficulty of encounters in 1.1 have been overhauled to provide more challenging encounters throughout, but particularly in later areas. The loot and XP rewards for these encounters has of course been adjusted as well to match.
Enemies
There are currently 100 unique enemy types to be found throughout Lunamin, and 1.1 brings this number over 250. The new enemies bring new attacks, resistances, and vulnerabilities, as well as new special characteristics, such as levitation or night vision.
Enemy sprites have also been enhanced, with more variety, more interesting sprites, and most importantly, animations! All monsters now have a variety of animations, improving readability and distinguishing different monster types and states.
Summing Up
1.1 will be an overhaul update to every game system related to player progression. The goal of the overhaul is to provide a richer experience of strategy, exploration, and player build variety.
This list of changes is by no means exhaustive, but I wanted to give a brief look at what is on the way.
