Gluttony changes
This update marks Version Demo 2.1, released in celebration of Steam Next Fest. It brings a range of improvements focused on enhancing combat feedback, expanding build synergies, smoothing the early-game difficulty curve, and improving overall visual readability.
Below are the key changes.
Visual Effects & Readability Improvements
Added visual effects along the edges of the HUD when taking damage or being affected by status effects.
Added dedicated VFX to improve visibility when entering lava areas.
Added visibility-enhancing VFX to make food items easier to identify.
Added a dedicated visual effect for Devour executions.
Level Design & Difficulty Flow Improvements
Adjusted the early-game level design to create a smoother learning curve.
Improved progression so that new enemy types and upgrades appear more gradually as the game progresses.
Character & Unlock Condition Adjustments
Unlock conditions for Mia and Nero have been relaxed.
- MiaIncreased cooldown for her invincibility skill.
- NeroIncreased Devour range.
Combat System Changes
Improved hit feedback and responsiveness of the basic attack (Burger Power).
- Adjusted the minimum requirement for triggering Meal Combos. PreviousDefeat 2 enemies consecutively New: Defeat 3 enemies consecutively
Food Power & Recipe System Expansion
Set Recipe System Added
Added recipes that activate effects when two Food Powers are held simultaneously.
Set recipes appear as a low-probability option in selections.
Example:
Hitting an enemy with Burger Power has a chance to trigger Pizza Power.
Recipe Rarity Synergy System Added
The rarity of owned Food Power recipes now increases the appearance rate of Relics and Spices that enhance the corresponding Food Power.
Owning a recipe increases the chance for higher-rarity versions of that recipe to appear.
Update Goals
This update was developed with the following goals in mind:
Strengthening combat feedback
Expanding build synergies
Lowering the early-game entry barrier
Improving visual readability
We hope you enjoy playing during Steam Next Fest, and we look forward to your feedback. Your input will help us continue improving Gluttony.
Thank you. — Team FG
