Hello, this is Team FG.

The main focus of the v0.2.3.1 update is to bring back the importance of decision-making during combat.

In GLUTTONY's early development, carefully choosing when to Feast on enemies was one of the core gameplay elements. However, as we continued to make the game more accessible through various difficulty adjustments, the overall combat experience gradually changed.

Over time, we introduced several player-friendly features, including:

  • Invincibility frames during Feast

  • An emergency survival system to prevent sudden deaths

  • Additional hit reactions and attack telegraphs

  • Overall difficulty adjustments

While these changes made the game more approachable, they also led to one of the most common pieces of feedback we received:

"The game eventually becomes about spamming the Space key."

To address this issue without making the game feel restrictive, we've completely reworked the Feast system by introducing a new Charge-based Cooldown System.

New Feature: Feast Charges

Feast now uses a charge system.

  • Starting Charges: 3

  • Each charge recovers independently.

  • Base cooldown per charge: 5 seconds

Players can choose to spend all of their charges in an emergency or save some for upcoming threats.

Managing your remaining Feast charges and reading the battlefield will now play a much bigger role in combat, encouraging more deliberate and strategic gameplay.

New Feature: Food Combo Reward

We've also significantly improved the value of the Food Combo system.

A Food Combo is activated by:

  • Feasting on the same enemy type 3 times consecutively, or

  • (Unlocked through future upgrades) Feasting on 4 different enemy types consecutively.

When a Food Combo is completed, all Feast charges are instantly restored.

This encourages players not only to survive, but also to think carefully about which enemies to Feast on and how to maintain their combos throughout a run.

Other Changes

  • Various bug fixes.

  • Text and localization improvements.

  • Adjusted Shop and Event currency rewards.
