Hello Everyone!
It's been a while. First, let us preface this by apologizing for taking so long to make another update regarding the game. Please be assured that we are doing our very best, especially to improve the game. Without further ado, let's get to it!
Current Development State of The Game
General Progress
A lot has happened since the last update, and even though we can't show everything yet, we've got a couple of cool videos with some substantial progress in showing!
The first video shows some comparisons between the Early Access version and the next patch, as well as new content never seen before, such as the addition of NPC animations to make the game more lively, as well as mitigating some of the poor design of the haunted mansion by removing pointless "empty pockets" and fixing other confusing level design issues.
The second video is a treat: Fully voiced cutscenes showcasing the amazing talent we have managed to work with in this game!
Boss Fight Overhaul Progress
We are currently tackling Aldebaran's boss fight. Aldebaran's new fight holds an extra surprise as well, and we are working our hardest to turn her into the most challenging witch yet.
Most of the other bosses are in their finalized versions, but Tenebrea and Sierra need some tweaks before they're ready to show.
The rest of the bosses are also being worked on. For spoiler reasons, we can't divulge details on the bosses themselves, but to avoid leaving you all in the dark, the Final Boss is going to be our biggest challenge right after Aldebaran. Other endgame bosses are also being tweaked.
Parting Notes
After some reflection, we realize that both poor communication and scope creep have been our worst enemies in the development process of this game, which are not good traits to cultivate. We'll do our best to keep improving in this front, too. We're considering building a Discord community for our game (and other future games as well) to see if we can have a faster communication channel between us and the players since the one-sided communications notes have not been enough on our end. Is a Discord community of your interest? Please share your thoughts on that.
We don't have a release date window to divulge yet. As seen by the progress above, we can't upload a new build since it'll completely break the game. To make the game buildable, we need to close some open ends and balance the level system to make it fun to play, so this is why we hesitate to upload anything. We truly apologize for that.
That's it from us today. As always, thank you for the amazing support! Stay safe, and until next time!
