Game Master Engine Update 0.8.5 Patch Notes

We’re excited to announce that version 0.8.5 of Game Master Engine has just dropped! This update brings a host of quality-of-life improvements, new features, and over 600 new sci-fi props as we prepare for the next major update!

New Features:

Space Sky Function

Description: A new addition to the atmosphere settings, the Space Sky function allows you to activate a space mode. Found at the bottom of the atmosphere settings.

Use Case: This is not only useful for science fiction adventures but also perfect for creating eerie dungeons and otherworldly scenes.

Improved Import/Export

Description: Access the object functions window with CTRL-F, where the Import/Export function has seen significant improvements.

Enhancements: Recolored objects can now be imported correctly, making it easier to transfer your custom designs.

Spline Tool

Description: By pressing N on an object, you can activate the spline feature, allowing for the deformation and extension of objects.

Applications: Ideal for creating dynamic walls, winding rivers, and sprawling roads.

Advanced Graphics Settings

Description: A new set of graphics options is now available to fine-tune your gaming experience.

Purpose: These settings aim to help players optimize performance and visuals, getting the most out of their hardware.

Bugfixes:

Elven Town Objects

Issue: Some objects in the “elven town” set lacked collision, rendering them unclickable.

Resolution: This has been fixed to ensure all objects are interactive.

Grouping Box

Issue: The ungroup button was redundant.

Resolution: The ungroup button has been removed. To ungroup objects, simply delete the grouping box.

Trash Bin Frequency

Issue: The Trash bin was deleting its contents too frequently.

Resolution: Now, it only deletes contents upon loading a map or when emptied manually.

Grouping/Selection Box

Issue: The grouping/selection box would sometimes collide with the camera, causing flickering.

Resolution: This issue has been resolved for a smoother experience.

Lens Flare Effect

Issue: The lens flare effect was overly strong, causing lighting artifacts.

Resolution: The effect has been toned down for a more realistic appearance.

Empty Mini Object

Issue: The “empty mini” object couldn’t import custom minis, unlike other minis.

Resolution: This has been corrected to allow custom mini imports.

Outlook:

We’re currently reworking the UI to be more intuitive, sleek, and modern. Additionally, we’re transitioning to Unreal Engine 5 as our base engine. A functional version is already in the works, but we’re refining the details. Stay tuned for more updates!

Thank you for your continued support and feedback. Happy gaming!
