Full Circle changes
Dear Survivors!
With Full Circle being officially announced and coming to Gamescom later this year, we wanted to start giving you some insights into the development of the game. In semi-regular posts we’ll introduce to you certain mechanics, how music for the game is being created, how levels are being made and so on. Today however, we’d love to start with introducing to you one of the main characters of the game.
Meet Ena
Name: Ena Ikosiena Gender: Male Age: 18 Blood Type: A- Height: 1,80m Origin: Groundstation/ Thales Primary proficiencies: Mechanic / Engineer Secondary proficiencies: Novice Combatant
Ena is a young Crafter from Groundstation, part of a system that divides its people into Crafters, Protectors, and Workers. His main duty is maintaining the levitation system of Thales, the floating city above Groundstation. Like many in Groundstation, Ena takes pride in his role and believes in fulfilling it to the best of his ability.
However, Ena is also a little different from other Crafters. His curiosity often leads him to wonder what exists beyond the walls he has always known. After an incident inside Groundstation, Exi, his assigned brother and Protector, taught Ena how to defend himself (and no worries, we'll get back to Exi at some point in the coming weeks). For a Crafter like Ena, that training opened a small but important question: is a person defined only by the role they were given? Ena is not a natural-born fighter, his strengths lie in engineering. To compensate for his lack of physical strength, he built his own weapon: the Mechblade, a mechanical blade capable of releasing energy discharges on impact. In combat, Ena does not rely on brute force, but on ingenuity, technology, and his ability to adapt to danger.
Optimistic, self-assured, and deeply loyal to those close to him, Ena believes in the system that shaped him. But he is also curious enough to start noticing its cracks.
During the development of Full Circle, Ena was one of the very first characters which was brought into the game. While his overall appearance is still true to the original design, his sprites and portraits changed quite often over the years. The development of Full Circle started as an idea and a lot was still to be learned, especially when it comes to pixelart. You can see the progress here:
