changedToday, Microsoft, the original developer of the FSX platform, has announced that it is "returning FSX into its fold", so to speak. As of yesterday, MS has ended the custodial agreement with Dovetail Games, developers and publishers of FSX: Steam Edition , and intends to take over the support for FSX . What this means is that MS has dedicated its resources into supporting FSX platform for the foreseeable future. This also means that the FSX will be not be a legacy product, but the concurrent product to recently announced Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 , and might even get upgraded to get it more in line with modern hardware (latest DX support, etc.) We couldn't be more excited by this announcement: While we realized that FSX was slowly becoming a dying and obsolete platform, and always intended to move FSX SpacePort on from FSX to FS2020 (we developed it with modularity and portability in mind), this news means that the current version of FSX SpacePort will be deployed on a current, MS-supported platform for the foreseeable future! Indeed, awesome and exciting news!
