Greetings from the Facility! Progression is finally getting the attention it needed, and v0.4.5 leaves it in a place I feel is pretty good. Definitely better than before, but adds a bit more of a grind to a playthrough.

changedIt should be noted that, while enemy levels in rooms are a little high, it is still possible to clear and complete the respective floor with a lower level. For example, a floor with levels 13-17 can be started and beaten around level 10 or 11, given your gear is upgraded.

Gameplay Changes

  • Chests are now more likely to give weapons for your selected class (Paladin excluded, given its priority on survival). Crates and equipment items are not included.

  • Sha's Soul should summon Sha's Body less frequently.

  • Increased Buried Desert Treasure Room grate alert radius from 2048 -> 3072.

  • Starting rooms' enemy levels now match the rest of the rooms' enemy levels.

  • Zombies and Mummies now have a 1/6 chance of poisoning the player.

  • Cursed Soldier will now audibly cock the revolver's hammer when ready to fire.

  • Shards fired from Forest Spirit and Cerberus can no longer be destroyed by player projectiles.

  • Lightkeep Phase 1 should heal much less frequently.

  • On starting without the tutorial, you will now have 225 arrows.

  • The tutorial level has been updated to include 225 arrows rather than 150.

  • Added 5 items.

Visual Changes

  • Labyrinths Wall Cracks are now thinner.

  • Added moss patches to Labyrinths floors.

  • Added moss patches and vines to Labyrinths ceilings.

  • Labyrinths bricks received a height map.

  • Labyrinths tiles received a height map.

  • Fireball detonation light will now fade.

  • Disruption traps now emit particles surrounding the effected area.

Story Changes

  • 1 journal added.

Fixes

  • Filled the empty journal with content.

  • Haffor spears no longer travel through walls.

  • Enhancements/Inscriptions will now display stun times with decimals.

  • Widened wooden boards in Green Valleys slightly to allow enemies to walk across.

  • Jester's Ball will now despawn when the owning Jester dies.

  • Lightkeep Life Support systems will now no longer leave behind a sentry-like model when destroyed, which was deprecated mid 2025.

  • Glasses description fixed (???? idk what happened there).

  • Items can no longer be used during dialogue.

  • Wooden Bow ranged damage increased from 7 -> 8.

  • Vux Spitter no longer has Bonus Arrow Flight, which is relevant for the weapon.

Inscriptions

  • Sparked Inscription light aura reduced from 30 -> 20.

  • Sparked Inscription cost reduced from 7 gems -> 6 gems.

Classes

  • Mage bonus light aura reduced from 1.25x -> 1.1x.

  • Archer chance to not use arrows increased from 15% -> 25%.

That's it for this update. Progression will continue to receive tweaks over time, but these changes should make the game feel better.
