changedToday I would like to share with you some insights on the upcoming third map: Carentan .
changedCarentan is one of those iconic maps you can find in pretty much every WW2 video game such as in the classic Call of Duty 1 & 2 , and quite recently in Hell Let Loose . Should you also have watched the Band of Brothers TV series you will probably remember that epic assault of the Easy Company, and ehm Winters getting shot in his butt (or was it his leg?). By the way, my favorite part has always been camping behind the MG near gallery and suddenly popping up to yeet down approaching players, easy kill, easy life :P
addedAnyways, the initial map design is finished so far, I’ll continue adding more details and further work on effects & post processing, but all the major stuff is done. The “work” shifts now to the implementation of new abilities and units with the Tiger I (PzKpfw VI) and the M4 Sherman as highlights with the most powerful bang!

Below more information on Carentan and something to look at :D

Featured on Carentan as of now:

  • 2 map events

  • 5 new units (2 enemy, 3 player)

  • 2 new player abilities

  • Reworked unit mechanics #1: units use now the shoot on sight mechanic to better simulate urban combat → no shooting through objects anymore!

  • Reworked unit mechanics #2: some player units can be attacked and destroyed, could expand to all player units if this is something you guys want

  • A basket full of easter eggs!

Take care and enjoy the summer!
