Fleet Hunters changes
Fleet Hunters launches in less than a month.
It has been quiet here since the last update in May, but I have been working steadily toward the full release.
I am a solo indie developer, and Fleet Hunters is the first game I have taken from an early prototype all the way to release on Steam. Getting it this far has involved a lot of building, testing, rebuilding, and learning, but it is finally getting close.
I released the demo early because I wanted to see how people actually played the game, hear what worked, and find out what should be improved before launch.
One request appeared more than any other. Players enjoyed the pressure and speed of the real-time battles, but many also wanted the option to play using familiar turn-based rules.
That feedback led to Classic Mode, which will be included in the full release.
In Classic Mode, players take turns firing, and every successful hit earns another shot. It brings the familiar hidden-fleet rules into Fleet Hunters alongside its faster real-time battles.
What Is Coming at Launch
Real-Time Multiplayer with both fleets fire at once as players race to locate and destroy each other
Single-Player Battles where you can play against the AI and sharpen your strategy
Classic Mode: take turns firing, with another shot awarded after every successful hit
Steam Deck Support is available from day one
HDR Support
Full Input Support so you can play with a mouse and keyboard or a controller
Seeing my first game this close to release is exciting, surreal, and honestly a little intimidating.
Thank you to everyone who played the demo, shared feedback, reported issues, or added Fleet Hunters to their wishlist. Your feedback has had a real impact on what will be included at launch.
Launch party event
I am also preparing a Fleet Hunters Launch Party. I will share more details soon.
Fleet Hunters launches in less than a month. Wishlist it on Steam and follow the page for the remaining announcements before release.
