Hey Anglers,
Fireworks are lighting up the sky, the grills are heating up, and the festive spirit is in the air! With Independence Day and Canada Day just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to hit the water, embark on a festive treasure hunt, and celebrate with special event gear.
Get ready for history-inspired adventures, earn awesome rewards by completing event missions, and enjoy some unforgettable fishing!
The event has already kicked off, and runs until July 6 at 10:00 UTC across all American waterways, from Lone Star Lake, Texas, to Kaniq Creek, Alaska.
You can also celebrate Independence Day by competing in Fishing Planet's biggest Trout tournament and collecting Twitch drops rewards with the Discover Fishing Planet Twitch Drops Campaign. Check out all the details in the article below!
Join the Independence Day Celebration Missions!
Embark on an exciting adventure to find fragments of Washington's battle saber, lost over a century ago. Set out to locate ancient canoes sunk in various North American waterways, guided by coordinates found on historical fish tags. Each sunken canoe holds a chest with relics and a piece of the saber. Restore the saber and receive an ancient map that will lead you to real treasures!
After restoring George Washington’s statue you win a Revolutionary™ Angling Jacket and durable SwordCast™ Casting Rod!
Complete the third stage of the History Catcher achievement to earn a truly iconic reward — an exact replica of George Washington’s extravagant tricorne-style hat. Handcrafted from genuine leather, this limited Independence Day collectible provides 4 extra tackle storage slots and adds a patriotic touch and aristocratic flair to your holiday.
Raise the Flags!
Celebrate American Independence Day by raising the USA flag at each event location to earn spectacular fireworks as a reward.
You can also head to White Moose Lake to honor Canada Day by raising the Canadian flag and joining the festivities there. You can interact with flags daily.
Catch all Historic Fish
Embark on an epic angling adventure and try your luck at catching all the event fish that are over 200 years old! Each of these unique fish has a special anchor tag clipped onto their fins, marked with President George Washington’s signature. It’s important to note that Historic fish are not to be kept, so they don’t give you much in-game money. Catching these living pieces of history but don’t forget to release them!
Light Up the Sky with Fireworks & Cannons
Fireworks can be launched on all American waterways and at Canada’s White Moose Lake. Try your luck and collect them all! You can obtain fireworks from flagpoles and cannons, or stock up by purchasing them in the Global Shop and local shops at event locations.
Don't forget that Historic Fish absolutely love fireworks! Once the festive lights and sounds fill the air, they'll start biting like crazy. Launch fireworks together with your friends to boost the effect and keep it going even longer!
Find Cannonballs in snags and load up the Liberty Cannon for a festive salute! Every cannon shot gives you a chance to receive event bait, fireworks, or, if luck isn't on your side this time, nothing at all. The more shots you fire, the better your chances of scoring some holiday goodies!
While using the Liberty Cannon, you may also win the exclusive FireCannon reel that matches the SwordCast™ Casting Rod!
Keep in mind that each Liberty Cannon can only be fired once per hour, and you’ll need a Cannonball in your Backpack to use it. And best of all, firing the Liberty Cannon also attracts Historic Fish just like launching Fireworks!
Canada Day Pack
This year, we have a special treat for our PC and console players in celebration of Canada Day! The Canada Day Pack features a vibrant and stylish outfit, 20 fireworks, and additional storage slots to keep them, and in-game currency for the travel. You'll also receive a 7-day pass to White Moose Lake in Alberta, complete with an Advanced License for unlimited fishing during this period.
This pack is available in the Premium Store for Baitcoins and you will get a very nice discount on it on July 1st, so keep an eye on the Personal Offers tab. Enjoy the festive spirit celebrating Canada Day with Fishing Planet!

Travel Discounts
To help you explore more event locations without spending as much, we’re offering a 50% discount on travel and stay costs. From July 3, 10:00 UTC to July 6, 10:00 UTC, discounted travel will be available on all the American locations.
Additionally, White Moose Lake will also have a 50% discount on travel and stay costs from June 30, 10:00 UTC to July 2, 10:00 UTC.
Independence Trout Open 2026
Don't forget, every 4th of July comes with the Independence Trout Open Tournament. The first-place winner and two runners-up will earn not only fame and glory but also valuable rewards.
Catch Trout using only freshwater spinning or casting setups with barbless tackle. Fight your way through the Qualifiers, earn a place in the Semifinal and Final Round, and compete for valuable rewards, exclusive items, and tournament glory. Registration opens on June 29th, with the first Qualifier starting on June 30th.
This is the one sportfishing event you don’t want to miss. The Tournament kicks off next week, and we'll additionally announce it when registration starts. Stay tuned for updates!
