Hello, Shapers!
Today we're releasing the 1.1 update for Fine Work, Act I!! Since launch, we’ve pushed quite a few updates, features, and bug fixes. Our devs and artists have been hard at work making Fine Work better and better, so we thought we’d highlight some of the changes we’re most excited about this patch!
🪡 Keyboard/Controller improvements: You’ll notice a smoother experience when playing without a mouse, with cleaner menu transitions, more responsive inputs, and numerous bugfixes for the controller experience!
🪡 Sendshaping Autoplay: Our latest accessibility feature adds the ability to autoplay sendshaping sessions! You’ll be able to experience each song from beginning to end, totally hands-free, if so desired. You’ll be able to toggle this on in your game settings.
🪡 Notebook Improvements: For all of our lore-hunters out there, we’re happy to announce a round of improvements for the Notebook! You can push “N” (or X on controller) to see revised and expanded descriptions for the People, Places, and Phenomena you’ll encounter in Gleamhold. Additionally, we’ve done some minor revisions to the UI and text display to make reading said entries a bit more pleasant.
🪡 Visual Novel Stability: Thanks to everyone's SUPER HELPFUL bug reports, we’ve patched some of the last few hiccups with disappearing (or incorrectly-appearing) characters and backgrounds. While there may be a 🐛 or two left to find, players should have a much more stable experience inside the Visual Novel, especially when it comes to characters appearing out of place/when they ought not.
The full 1.1 Updates:
🧵 Features:
Enhanced keyboard and controller navigation for several menus (Settings Menu, Load Game Menu, Track Select, Save Game, Notebook Menu).
Load Game Menu: Sort save profiles by most recently modified.
Mixing/balancing of on-screen keyboard sounds.
Patched UI transitions that allowed the menu below to be visible.
Changed the way the dialogue line looks in the choice picker to allow the user to read more of the line they are responding to.
Updates to notebook definitions and layout.
Added autoplay rhythm level functionality and consolidated settings.
Some tweaks for visual clarity on Danaee's rhythm level - Out of Time - Easy.
Added unscored segments to rhythm gameplay so that it does not impact the overall rating.
🧵 Bugfixes:
Fixed a small but insidious issue whereby pressing Back on the Pre-Craft menu would take the user back to the main menu.
Fixes to UI navigation for keyboard + controller.
Smoothing out recognizing changes in controller usage so that the user does not end up in a broken state.
Fixed a bug where some input bindings were not functioning (i.e., Chat History, Notebook).
Fixed a small input bug where the Enter key would not work for menus while in the Visual Novel.
Fixed an issue where characters would be saved as visible when reaching a chapter point and then appear unintentionally when loading that save.
Fixed a small issue with deleting save data, leaving the user in a corrupt state.
Fixed an issue where the trailing visuals on the manta would separate from it while on fast segments of the track.
Fixed a seam in the skybox of Marr Machine.
Smoothed out player visuals in the rhythm game and on the score screen.
Rhythm game tutorial videos no longer flicker when showing subsequent videos, and transition more smoothly.
