Farmer's Dynasty 2 changes
Hello farmers!
Have you ever looked out at the treeline from your porch and seen more than just wood? A bit of potential, maybe? If that's you, or if you simply like working with timber, then we've got good news for you...
...the Riverside Sawmill is open for business.
We are very happy to bring you our biggest update yet. There is a lot to get up to with this one!
Have a look at patch notes for details.
The Riverside Sawmill
On the bank of the river awaits a brand new building: a lumber mill. This is where your trees will end up once you fell them.
So how do you deliver the logs to the sawmill? That's our favourite part. There's a new waterway where you drop the logs into the river with your old-era log trailer and its vintage crane, or with the modern log trailer.
After that, just let the stream do the rest. The logs will automatically float towards a conveyor belt, where they are picked up and stored for processing.
There are several things you can do with logs. You can debark them or run them through the mill into plank pallets and sell them wet right away for a small profit. But if you want to invest a little more time and increase your profits, you can let them dry out!
Drying has two options to suit how you work: a powered heated area that's quick, or a roofed area that's slower but costs nothing to run.
A Circular Lifestyle
Forests aren't endless, in the game as in real life. If you want to make a real go of the lumber business, you'll need to think past the next felling and put something back. So let's plant some trees!
Once you've cut all the trees and bushes, it's time to get the area ready for planting. Start by removing the stumps to clear the ground with the new stump removal machine, available in each era. At this point, you can also decide to turn the newly cleared area into a field.
Once there's enough space, use the tree planting machine in the modern era. In the old era, you take matters into your own hands and plant them yourself.
You can choose from five different tree types: Birch, Oak, Pine, Poplar and Spruce.
Then just watch them grow from a seedling to a young tree and finally to a fully grown tree. The cycle can begin again.
Products and By-Products
Dried planks are good for far more than selling. Put them toward your renovation work, or take them to the crafting table for a fresh set of furniture. And since each type of wood gives a plank its own colour, the wood you choose carries through to the finished rebuild. The wood you pick decides the look.
What's more, furniture made from these pallets is more detailed and sophisticated than the rest.
Working in the sawmill also creates by-products like bark, sawdust and woodchips, and now you need to deal with these too. So turn them into money! Collect the by-products from their dedicated silos and sell them at the selling points near the grain markets.
Or take the long way around and travel to the selling point at Ernesto & Ricardo's. We're sure the travel time will pay off.
We hope you will enjoy your lumbering adventures and share them with us too on our Discord server or here on Steam.
TIMBEEER~!!!
