Welcome to the first update for the demo of Failed Falling!
0.5.0 addresses two aspects that needed improvements: the visuals and the difficulty. A lot of work went in to this and hopefully it'll be the last update where fundamentals part of the game will change.
Visuals
The player and parachute sprites have been reworked to now always have a three-quarter view. A long standing issue I had with the game, as the sprite was one of the first assets I made. Steam post image
Added a simple, but effective, lightning system, most noticeable in secret areas. To make the world feel more reactive. Steam post image
Other minor adjustments. Too many to list, some areas just look better!
Gameplay
Added the new action limit for the parachute. Limit the parachute to rise slower and fall faster. Steam post image
The parachute sprite now reacts to the player's inputs. Both a visuals and gameplay feature to make the game feel more responsive.
Increased the max speed while airborne. Makes the parachute more maneuverable.
If you want to follow development, you can follow me on BlueSky, where I often post about what I'm working on. Until next time!
