WHATS IN THIS UPDATE

Hey, Outlanders. In this update you can expect to find some new enhancements to lighting and some of the graphical aspects of the game. Here's the quick notes.

  • Improved issue with missing meshes in the Baltane Open-world map.

  • Added additional enemy spawns to Baltane Open-world location.

  • Increased spawns and spawn rates for environmental ingredients.

  • Fixed issues regarding Potion Crafting Questline

  • Lightning improvements with specific assets to improve overall performance.

  • Fixed map gaps in Open-World Map.

  • Fixed issue regarding dialogue not highlighting when hovered.

Also in preparation of the big companion overhaul in the next update, I added an additional feature to help players prepare.

PART TIME JOBS

Throughout FADE, as it grows into a more and more fleshed out open world RPG, the player is going to uncover areas where NPCS need lesser work to be completed. The first of these is the Blacksmithing part time job listed below. For now the players mastery level is capped, but later on there will be a separate mastery for each part time job which will help make the jobs easier based on how much to player works them. This will also be more so to gate which part time jobs the player is talented enough to help with. Pictured below is the lowest skill level of blacksmithing and thus yields a small amount of gold per completed piece.

WORK MULTIPLIER

For each job, as the player continues to achieve high quality results from their work, they will build up a multiplier. Continuing to output exceptional work will keep the multiplier high and result in a higher payout for the work done. Make sure to find your rhythm to get the best reward out of your efforts.

WHATS NEXT?

In the next update players will be able to look forward to the following:

  • COMPANION AWAKENING SYSTEM - Companions that reach their max level will unlock an awakening quest which will allow them to learn a new ability. The abilities will differ from companion to companion and the higher ranking the companion the better the ability.

  • COMPANION WAGES - As the value of companions increases, the companions hiring rate is going to be shifted to also include daily wages for their equipment upkeep. At the start of each day, gold will be deducted from your inventory and should you not have enough gold a menu will pop up and have you decide on which companion to pay and who to dismiss. Make sure to watch your spending when you've got costly Outlanders on your team.

  • COMPANIONS COMMANDS PAD - New inputs shall be added to help the player guide companions in battle and also to command them to use their awakened abilities. This should give players more control over their companions in battle and make you feel like you have more control over the battlefield.

EXPECTED ARRIVAL

The expected completion of these new features is currently measured at around 6 days. I plan to tackle these new additions as soon as I complete this update with it being the weekend. Looking forward to everyones feedback on the current changes and their opinions on the new features in the near future. Thanks again guys. I couldn't ask for a more responsive and involved community.
