Greetings to all Space-Knights!
We are back from our winter slumber with a major rework of how gear functions in Fabular. This update brings you two massive changes: a total overhaul of the game's itemization system and the addition of specialized starmap reward-nodes.
Itemization Overhaul & Item Tiers
We’ve completely re-evaluated every item in the game and developed an item upgrade system. Most weapons and gadgets now feature three distinct item tiers. Whether you’re looking at your HUD or your inventory, you’ll see the tier indicated by + signs after the name and at the bottom of the item’s icon.
Tier+ and Tier++
These are straight upgrades. If you find a higher-tier version of your current gear, swap it out—it is objectively more powerful.
The Overforge
You no longer have to abandon a favorite piece of gear just because it's an "early game drop". We’ve added a new Overforge node to every starmap. Visiting this node allows you to upgrade a lower-tier item to a higher one, ensuring your favorite setup scales as the enemies get tougher.
Balance & New Loot
While creating these tiers, most existing items have been tweaked for better performance or usability. We’ve also added several new items themed specifically around the various Realm bosses for you to hunt down. Some of these items are in the current build, and some will get rolled out in later patches.

New Starmap Reward-Nodes
To complement the gear rework, we’ve introduced specialized high-value nodes on the starmap. These allow you to prioritize exactly what your ship needs rather than leaving it all to luck. You'll now find specific locations for Overforging (item upgrade), Melee Weapon Caches, Gadget Caches, Consumable Caches, and Main Attribute Upgrades.
These new strategic points must be unlocked at the Arch-Architect token vendor in the throne room. Once a node is unlocked, it becomes a permanent part of your potential journey. By investing in subsequent "boons" for these events at the vendor, you’ll actually expand the variety of items they offer, giving you more slots and better variations to choose from every time you arrive.
These nodes are class-specific, meaning they will only offer gear that fits your current class, so you never have to worry about a "dead" reward. Additionally, to help you tailor your playstyle from the very beginning, the first starmap in every run will now always contain a Melee Weapon node. If you’re looking for an alternative to your starting weapon, make that node your first destination.
