changedHi Everyone! This past month has been focused almost entirely on improving the camp. The goal has been to make the camp feel more rewarding to build while reducing unnecessary busywork. While work on the camp overhaul continues, an updated demo is planned for next month, bringing many of the improvements featured in this and previous monthly updates. Let's dive into what changed.
addedBlueprintsSeven additional blueprints have been added, expanding camp progression. These new stations are unlocked by completing blueprints instead of being found as complete items throughout the world. To support this expansion, a few new items have also been added:
changedCampEvery station in the camp has been updated.
addedCampMost stations can now be upgraded with dedicated storage, with several stations sharing storage where it makes sense. This makes inventory management at camp much smoother while still keeping exploration inventory limited.
removedCampThe fire barrel has also been reworked. Once you've established your camp, it no longer requires constant refueling. While the original mechanic seemed like a good idea on paper, it often made camp feel stressful instead of safe. Camp should be a place where you can slow down, organize, craft, and prepare before heading back out.
changedDrying and ExtractingThe Drying Station (previously the Plant Press) and Extracting Station (previously the Extractor) have both been updated.

Blueprints

Seven additional blueprints have been added, expanding camp progression. These new stations are unlocked by completing blueprints instead of being found as complete items throughout the world. To support this expansion, a few new items have also been added:

  • Flask

  • Kettle

  • Frying Pan

Camp

Every station in the camp has been updated.

Most stations can now be upgraded with dedicated storage, with several stations sharing storage where it makes sense. This makes inventory management at camp much smoother while still keeping exploration inventory limited.

The fire barrel has also been reworked. Once you've established your camp, it no longer requires constant refueling. While the original mechanic seemed like a good idea on paper, it often made camp feel stressful instead of safe. Camp should be a place where you can slow down, organize, craft, and prepare before heading back out.

Drying and Extracting

The Drying Station (previously the Plant Press) and Extracting Station (previously the Extractor) have both been updated.

The Drying Station now requires Flora and Drying Paper to produce Dried Flora.

The Extracting Station has also been simplified. It now requires only Dried Flora and Methanol to produce extracts, removing the need for Butane.

Water Purification

The water system has received a major update. Water collected from water sources is now dirty and needs to be purified at your camp before it is safe to drink.

Simply fill your canteen at a water source, pour it into the Purification Station, and over time it will produce clean water that can then be collected.

The Brewing and Growing Stations can use either dirty or clean water, but drinking dirty water yourself isn't without consequences. Doing so will cause Dysentery, temporarily reducing your strength.

Additional

  • Improved stalactite debris behavior so it now reliably triggers when the player is within range.

  • Battery management has been merged into the Computer.

  • Removed the Erlenmeyer flask and Bunsen Burner items.

  • Numerous bug fixes.

Thank you to everyone following this journey. If you’d like to support the project, you can follow along on itch.io, Steam, YouTube and X.
