Hi everyone! First off, Expedition RAVN-3 participated in the recent Steam Next Fest. A huge thank you to everyone who tried the demo, left feedback, and wishlisted the game! This past month has been focused on new content, improving the early game and beginning a complete overhaul of the camp. Let's dive in.

Camp Starter Items

After receiving feedback from players, it became clear that the save mechanic wasn't introduced soon enough. With that in mind, the camp has been moved to the first level, the objectives have been updated and a collection of camp starter items has been added.

This helps ensure that once players discover the camp, they can establish it and save their progress much earlier. Since this is one of the core pillars of Expedition RAVN-3, making it accessible sooner was a high priority.

The camp starter items also take into account what the player has already discovered or done, ensuring they complement rather than replace progression.

Cold Areas

Cold areas have been added to the game, tying directly into the corruption and darkness systems.

When a player enters one of these areas, a status icon appears alongside visible cold breath as a warning. It's best to leave immediately, as lingering too long can quickly become fatal...

Random Events

Random events have been added to introduce more variety between playthroughs.

These events are designed to be one-off encounters, meaning you may never see every event in a single run.

Brewing Station

The original camp stations served their purpose, but they felt a little flat. As a result, the camp is now receiving a complete visual and gameplay overhaul.

The old tin cup has been replaced with an upgradable brewing station. Alongside its visual redesign, it introduces several quality of life improvements.

The first is a built-in water reservoir, allowing multiple brews to be created without having to constantly refill the canteen.

The second is ingredient and brews storage. Once upgraded, the station provides dedicated storage, reducing inventory management and making brewing much more convenient.

The brewing station is the first of several camp stations that are being redesigned as part of the camp overhaul.

Additional

  • Added 5 new rooms.
