changedMethane BiomeUnfortunately, I had willfully forgotten just how much wood is required to build out all the supports.

Hi everyone! This past month has been focused on releasing the demo on Steam, which went live on April 27, 2026. Most of the work went into bug fixes, along with a few improvements to overall gameplay. Let’s dive into what changed.

Storage Icons

There was some confusion from earlier players around where items could be stored. To address this, storage icons have been added to item descriptions.

While this is a relatively small addition, it should help clarify where items can be stored.

Methane Biome

With the demo released, the focus has shifted toward the full game. The next step is the methane biome.

Unfortunately, I had willfully forgotten just how much wood is required to build out all the supports.

Maps

Early playtesting showed that how maps worked wasn’t very clear.

Since picking up a map only increases map levels by a small amount, the exact value is now shown in the notification. Additionally, when progressing to the next level, a notification now indicates that a map level was used.

Tutorials

Objectives and packing items tutorials have been added. Again, based on early playtesting, the backpack packing mechanic wasn’t always clear.

While players eventually understood it, these changes, along with updates to existing tutorial wording, aim to make the experience smoother.

Additional

  • Added new passage.

  • Objective now only displays when in the backpack or map.

  • Improved unstuck behavior to be less sensitive when the player is not grounded.

  • Improved fire barrel smoke collision with ceilings.

  • Strength no longer increases when on a ladder.

  • Numerous bug fixes.

Thank you to everyone following this journey. If you’d like to support the project, you can follow along on itch.io, Steam, YouTube and X.
