Expand & Exterminate: Terrytorial Disputes - Endless Base Defense changes
Gamers,
Terry Here, I got my hands on a Steam Deck, spent the majority of this week working on changes to the balance, rebuilding all the tech tiers, and optimizations for the Steam Deck. This isn't *THE* Steam Deck update as I'm still working on getting the controller config off the deck and on to my PC, but it's being worked on. The game is a blast on the Deck, I've added inputs for the Time Scale buttons, Repair/Sell/Advance buttons, and 6 building categories, so that they can be configured to buttons on the Deck. I've added Vulkan API options specifically for the Steam Deck. 6 New Turrets, 1 New Structure.
Added:
Fully converted to Unity's "New" input system, ironing out the bugs for full controller support, this is also step towards re-bindable keys.
Little function that'll dynamically adjust the Camera's Render Width so that objects under the right hand UI bar are not rendered; Depending on the Gamer's monitor aspect ratio, the render width is changed to ensure there is no void space or rendering of the game under the sidebar.
Enabled Vulkan API for MAXIMUM SteamDeck performance & "Longevity" (that's what the steam documentation says)
Minimum Range settings for Turrets, I bet you won't guess which of the new turret this was used on.
~55 new technologies for said new buildings
Blast Radius debug option in setting menu, this way you can verify what the blast radius' size actually looks like.
New Buildings:
Grenade Launcher
Juggernaut
Prism Turret
Mortar
Artillery
Gustav Cannon
Vehicle Depot with MRLS systems (the hover variant)
Fixed:
Updated all the Difficulties, the top and bottom end for difficulty have been made more extreme.
Increased interact-able "zone" for almost all of the UI buttons & menus
Re-scaling a lot of text & UI to improve legibility on Steam Deck, I would love to hear feedback on how the scaling feels on the deck.
Changed how the lines for the tech tree are drawn
Reworked all the tech tiers and technologies, I'm still working on getting the pacing right, but I think this is a step in the right direction.
