Repeated intro
Hello everyone! We’re happy to announce Exotic Matter’s second content update: New Beginnings! It will be available for download on Sunday 16 September. We’re sorry the update was a long time coming. Gamescom and other big plans got in the way. Following a ton of fantastic playtesting experiences and feedback from players at Gamescom (a big thanks to you!), the team at Moebiusgames has completely revamped the opening minutes of the game and the game’s balancing. This includes:
What changed
- Gameplay
- Balance
- Maps
- UI and audio
Largely redesigned Criterion (includes a faster ‘way out’ and more loot)
Criterion opening segment completely redesigned to train players in all mechanics including crafting
Criterion opening segment completely redesigned to make the player’s goal clear for the entire game
Improved weapon balancing – player can create better weapons more quickly and the basic weapons, including the drill, now do some (minor) damage
- Improved enemy balancingenemy health and properties improved
You can keep track of our detailed road map on Trello, but for the next 2 months our main priority is:
New dungeons!
New NPCs!
A new, built from the ground-up UI system (the current one is a Java library that causes issues for many users)
