Empires and Tribes changes
Dear Mayors,
We have some great news: The demo for Civica: Italian Renaissance is now available! Over the past two years, we’ve been working hard to bring you this first playable version and share our vision for this Italian city-builder. Even the first elements of our political system made it into this release—featuring the Signoria typical of the Renaissance, complete with bribery, impeachment, and plenty of flattery. You can find the demo of Civica here: Civica Italian Renaissance
We’re really looking forward to your feedback and ideas for Civica. It’s incredibly exciting for us to work with you on its further development. In addition to the obvious expansion of resource chains, new businesses, and additional public buildings, we’re particularly focused on social and political themes.
The Renaissance was shaped by powerful families like the Medici, who had a lasting influence on culture, society, and art. In Civica, we therefore want not only to integrate a dynasty system for players but also to realistically depict the power struggles within the city—for example, through dynamic, heated debates both inside and outside the Signoria.
At the same time, the era was marked by profound upheavals: the rise of humanism and a powerful Catholic Church as its counterpoint. A tension arose between dogmatic clergy, art-loving patrons, and visionary thinkers, shaping the future view of humanity. It is precisely these social dynamics that we want to bring to life in Civica through gameplay—for example, via different development trees, research speeds, or even building types that depend on the chosen playstyle.
At the same time, we are launching our Kickstarter campaign for Civica. Over the past few years, we have not only poured all our experience from Empires and Tribes into this project but have also invested every euro we’ve earned into its development. To fully realize our vision of an immersive and deep city-builder and successfully complete development, we now rely on your support.
If you like Civica, we would be very happy if you visited our Kickstarter page and supported the project:

Now we hope you have fun diving into the Italian Renaissance!
